Cacao can be enjoyed daily as it is known to be a “superfood” and a marvelous coffee replacement. To enjoy the full benefits of the plant, we recommend daily consumption for at least 10 days in a row to observe its potential on your own body, mind & soul.

Cacao is not considered a perishable good if the right conditions of storage are respected. Store in a dry, dark and cool place. Avoid strong odors next to your ceremonial paste cacao as it is sensitive and cacao can be affected by it. We usually enjoy the cacao to its fullest within a year or two after the date of packaging.

Cacao Tolteca does not contain any emulsifiers. This may lead to the naturally occurring butter of the Cacao to separate from the solids and create white spots. This is called blooming and is normal. It happens when the cacao begins to cool down. The properties of the Cacao remain intact and its quality does not change.

Ceremonial Cacao is usually not considered raw as temperatures rise above 122 Fahrenheit during the process. The fermentation and drying processes are essential steps in Cacao making.

Ceremonial Cacao is vegan. Ceremonial Cacao is 100% ceremonial paste cacao. Beans are fermented, sun-dried and hand-peeled.

Ceremonial Cacao is considered safe while pregnant if used in moderation. Everyone reacts differently to the plant. We encourage you to go on your own journey with it and listen to your intuition. Lower the recommended dose and adjust based on your feelings during your pregnancy.

Cacao Tolteca is not “certified organic” by a third party. Our cacao is grown organically in the Suchitepéquez forest in Guatemala. This region offers the perfect conditions for the evolution of the plant which allow the process to happen without the use of chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers.
